The School District of Amery is hiring substitute paraeducators for the 2026-2027 school year. Substitute paraeducators fill in for staff as needed. Assignments may include working in an elementary classroom, working with special education students, working in a school library or office, or supervising recess. Schedule is flexible based on your days available. The School District of Amery is a public PK-12 district of approximately 1,200 students in four buildings on one campus. Amery is one of the highest achieving districts in western Wisconsin. The district encompasses 190+ square miles in Polk and St. Croix Counties, approximately one hour from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Amery is known as the "City of Lakes" which is comprised of four lakes and the Apple River.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to use sound judgment in dealing with students
- Perform physical requirements which may include:
- Moderate degree of physical stamina
- Frequent standing, walking , bending and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to restrain a student if needed
- Ability to use a telephone, computer and other office equipment as needed
- Ability to make frequent trips to and from desks, counters, etc, as well as other areas in the school building - Such alternative to the above requirements as the Board or the Administration may deem appropriate and acceptable.
