Hours: On-Call Basis | 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Reports To: Building Principal / Assistant Principal

About the Role

Looking for a flexible, short-hour role that fits around your busy daily schedule? We are seeking reliable, friendly Substitute Lunch & Recess Support Leaders to join our elementary team on an as-needed basis!

You’ll step in to help ensure our K–5 students have a safe, enjoyable, and well-supervised lunch and outdoor/indoor playtime. This is an ideal position for parents, retirees, college students, or community members looking for flexible on-call work without full-day commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Cafeteria Supervision: Assist young students with opening food items, maintain a clean and orderly environment, and guide smooth transitions between eating and play time.

Playground & Recess Safety: Actively monitor outdoor play areas, facilitate safe and inclusive play, and help resolve minor peer disagreements.

Positive School Culture: Provide a welcoming, encouraging adult presence and help maintain school safety rules and behavior expectations.

Communication: Report any notable student issues or safety concerns to building administrators.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience working or volunteering with children (e.g., youth sports, childcare, parenting) is helpful.

Key Traits: Dependability, warm demeanor, flexibility, and strong communication skills with young children.

Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, and monitor indoor and outdoor areas in various weather conditions.

Clearances: Successful completion of required district background checks and onboarding.
