Substitute Paraeducator

Crescent School District is looking for caring, dependable, and flexible individuals to serve as Substitute Paraeducators . This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working with students and want to make a positive difference in their school day.

Substitute Paraeducators support students and teachers in both general and special education settings. Assignments may include:

Assisting students with classroom activities and assignments

Providing one-on-one or small-group support as directed by the teacher

Supporting positive behavior and social-emotional needs

Supervising students during lunch, recess, passing times, and other activities

Assisting students with personal care needs when trained and appropriate

Helping maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment

Working with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs

We are looking for individuals who are:

Caring, patient, and positive

Dependable and punctual

Flexible and comfortable adapting to different classrooms, situations and student needs on short notice.

Able to work well with students and staff

Respectful of student privacy and confidentiality

Able to sit, stand, walk, lift and move up to 50 pounds, and assist students as needed.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and the ability to meet Washington State paraeducator requirements and pass required background checks. Previous experience working with children or students with disabilities is helpful, but training may be provided.
