- Applicant must be able to pass a physical ability test.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow student support plans and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Provide direct 1:1 support to a student throughout the school day.
- Assist with implementation of instructional activities and behavioral supports as directed by the classroom teacher and support staff.
- Support student participation in classroom routines, learning activities, transitions, and peer interactions.
- Assist with communication, social-emotional development, and self-help skills.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administration regarding student needs and progress.
Maintain confidentiality and appropriate documentation related to student services.

Description: Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is accepting applications for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional at Middletown Prairie Elementary. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to a student while assisting with instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, and daily living needs under the direction of certified staff and related service personnel. The paraprofessional will help foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and independence. This is a cross categorical position working one-on-one with students that have a wide range of abilities and needs. This is a full-time position for the 2026–2027 school year.

NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
