Asst. HS Girls Basketball

Job Summary
The Taholah School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist in coaching the high school girls basketball team for the upcoming season. This seasonal position involves working closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, foster teamwork, and promote a positive and competitive environment. The assistant coach will play a vital role in the team's success and the overall development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Help organize and manage game-day operations, including warm-ups, player substitutions, and strategy implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance skills and confidence.
- Maintain open communication with players, parents, and school staff regarding team activities and player progress.
- Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.
- Assist in developing and implementing conditioning programs to ensure players are physically prepared for competition.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
- Uphold and enforce school and district policies related to athletics and student conduct.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in basketball or a related sport, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Availability to attend all practices, games, and meetings during the basketball season.
- Must pass a background check and meet any other district requirements for coaching staff.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus but not required.
