- Review and monitor K-8 student attendance data.
- Identify students with chronic absenteeism, excessive tardiness, or emerging attendance concerns.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding attendance concerns and improvement strategies.
- Conduct parent/home visits when additional outreach is needed.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, nurses, RTI staff, and other support personnel to identify barriers to attendance.
- Connect students and families with available school and community resources.
- Assist with transporting students to school, when necessary and authorized, in accordance with district procedures.
- Maintain documentation of family contacts, home visits, interventions, and transportation assistance.
- Support district and school-based attendance initiatives and recognition programs.
- Provide regular updates to the Director of Security and building principals.
- Experience working with students and families in an educational or related setting.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple K-8 schools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet district requirements related to student transportation.

SALARY RANGE: Hourly rate as per the contract between the PEA and the Phillipsburg BOE
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Student Attendance Liaison - K-8 position is designed to improve student attendance and strengthen family engagement. The liaison will work with the Director of Security, building principals, families, and school staff to identify and address attendance concerns, reduce chronic absenteeism, and connect families with appropriate supports.
