- Collaborate with the teacher to support lesson planning and preparation
- Lead or assist with small-group work, remediation, and enrichment
- Provide targeted support to students with special education or language needs
- Supervise during non-instructional times (recess, lunch, field trips)
- Assist with grading, data entry, classroom setup and cleanup
- Help maintain a welcoming and affirming classroom environment
- Observe students and provide feedback to teachers on academic or behavioral progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, trainings, and professional development (whenever possible)
- Operate classroom technology and assist with instructional materials preparation
- Performance will be evaluated annually by building administration.

Ardsley School District is seeking a Teaching Assistant at Ardsley Middle School to work in the 9:1:3 special class effective immediately.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The Teaching Assistant works under the general supervision of a certified teacher to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development of students. This role involves providing one-on-one and small-group instructional support, preparing and organizing classroom materials, and assisting in classroom management. The Teaching Assistant also supervises students during transitions, lunch, and recess. In addition to instructional support, the Teaching Assistant helps monitor student progress, addresses behavior concerns, and performs clerical tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and recordkeeping, contributing to a well-functioning and inclusive classroom environment.
