QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate and some instructional experience in a classroom environment working with children with special needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project SEARCH Instructor assists in the implementation of education programs by providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and instruction to meet the needs of students. The instructor will manage Project SEARCH interns and programming at Baptist Health Hardin. This individual will coordinate with multiple agencies to develop employment and independent living skills for interns and work with interns to gain competitive, integrated employment upon completion of the internship. The individual must possess the ability to provide instruction working with students with special needs and from various backgrounds, monitor and evaluate student progress, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain routine records, read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and track student interns and internship opportunities

Implement a comprehensive education program for eligible participants

Provide instruction, counseling, appropriate learning materials and experiences for the participants and provide continuous evaluation of students’ progress and achievement

Coordinate with multiple agencies to support student success

Support students in obtaining competitive integrated employment

Support students in the development of job and independent living skills
