- Valid/Current CPR certification
- Assess and evaluate the total health and developmental status of students through the use of appropriate evaluative techniques.
- Administer medication to students under the following conditions: a) Written directions from the attending physician, which includes the requirements specifying frequency and method of administration, and a description of anticipated reactions of the student to the medication, b) Written parental consent, c) The medication is taken from a properly labeled medicine container to ensure the proper identification of the student, d) The medication is locked in a secure place.
- Reviews student vaccinations in the West Virginia State Immunization Information System and inputs data into WVEIS.
- Enter health data into WVEIS.
- Perform specialized health procedures.
- Trains county personnel and school staff in emergency care, specialized health care, and medication administration procedures.
- Ensure compliance with school health regulations.
- Administer first aide, if necessary.
- Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
- Follows county policy and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality for each student.
- Participates in required in-service training.
- Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with others.
- Maintains positive work attitude and habits.
- Perform other duties as assigned
