Position Description:
The Assistant Cook will work under the supervision of the District Chef and the Food Service Director. This position is responsible for performing general and routine duties related to all phases of food preparation, all related kitchen duties and customer service duties in accordance with state, federal and school board guidelines.
Position Requirements:
- Prepares foods from menu and performs all duties of a food production team member. Ensures food quality, quantity, freshness and presentation meet all standards.
- Portion food for various schools
- Cleaning of kitchen and equipment
- Check food supplies and deliveries
- Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills. Keep accurate records and reports
- Ability to work independently, problem solve and meet deadlines
- Operate equipment necessary to perform effectively and efficiently
- Computer knowledge to cashier
- Effective interpersonal and exceptional customer service skills.
- Enjoys working with students in grades k-12
- Such other duties as may be assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of food service and prior work experience in production kitchen setting
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
- Ability to keep accurate records and make reports
- Have physical ability to lift 60 lbs. regularly
- Work effectively with team members, school personnel and students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal social skills.
- A High School diploma or equivalent, culinary degree or certificate encouraged
- Experience in quantity food production
- Good math skills
Salary: $16.50/hr Hours: 34- 40 hours/week –
Approximately November 2026 -February 2027
