Oconto High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic JV Softball Coach to join our athletic department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about player development, teamwork, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This individual will be responsible for organizing and leading practices, game-day coaching, and supporting the overall goals of the softball program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement practice plans to improve individual and team performance.
- Provide instruction and guidance on softball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive culture within the team.
- Work closely with the Varsity Softball Coach to align the JV program with the varsity team's philosophy and goals.
- Manage and ensure the safety and supervision of players during practices, games, and team events.
- Coordinate game schedules, transportation, and equipment needs with the Athletic Department.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful team environment.
- Availability for practices, games, and team-related activities, including evenings and weekends.
