Technology Director/System Support Specialist

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Technology Director/System Support Specialist, 11-month

FLSA: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Principal/Superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Eleven month employment with benefits as specified in the Classified Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

Substitute Certificate required with DESE - the district can support with this requirement.

Experience working in personal computer and network maintenance.

Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.

Self-starter; able to work independently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Computer systems analysis and consultation, design, development testing, modification, or relate work in software functions.

Network, internet, and database administration.

Assist teachers and administrators in developing computer skills.

Maintain technology district-wide, including repair and diagnosis of computer systems and peripherals, and installation of purchased computer systems, peripherals and software.

Prioritizes and escalates work order tickets as necessary.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organize and work on mutliple projects or assignments simultaneously.

Negotiate to find successful resolutions for issues with basic complexity, escalating those needed to involve a supervisor.

Work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.

Learn quickly to address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on call.

Opportunity to teach an elective class with students.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Present and communicate in a professional manner.

Work additional hours or overtime as directed.

Lift up to 40 pounds when installing or working on equipment.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
