Instructional Assistant I

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant I to join our team at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences to students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and committed to enhancing student engagement and academic success.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and lesson plans.
- Support individual and small group instruction tailored to students' needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
- Prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods.
- Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Requirements
- 42 college credit hours or pass para educator assessment
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
- Must pass background checks as required by the school district.
