Campus Monitor - Villago (11402)

The job of Campus Monitor is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities; minimizing the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents; and communicating observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well being of students, school personnel, and/or visitors.

Essential Functions

Assists in monitoring campus foot traffic

Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff and visitors

Intervenes in potential conflicts and emergency situations

Maintains a variety of files and records (e.g. schedules, guidelines, etc.)

Monitors video surveillance systems, as requested

Monitors student behavior during and between assigned periods (e.g. rest rooms, playgrounds, hallways, library, cafeteria, bus zones, etc.)

Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc.

Performs other related duties, as assigned; prepares written materials (e.g. incident reports, activity logs, etc.)

Refers incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. to appropriate site personnel

Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources regarding campus security issues

Responds to a variety of situations (e.g. accidents, injuries, vandalism, suspicious activities, alarms, etc.)

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance

Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English

This is a 10-month school year position only.
