Substitue Route Driver

We are seeking a reliable and responsible part-time driver to provide transportation for students to and from school when our full-time bus drivers are unavailable.

This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible, part-time work with short shifts in the mornings and/or afternoons.

Job Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school and designated drop-off locations.

Cover morning and/or afternoon routes when full-time drivers are unavailable.

Follow all traffic laws, school transportation policies, and student safety procedures.

Maintain a safe, professional, and positive environment for students.

Communicate promptly regarding scheduling, route changes, or concerns.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license and/or Commercial Driver's License (CDL), as applicable to the vehicle and route.

A safe driving record and a responsible attitude.

Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working with children.

Ability to meet applicable school transportation requirements, including any required background checks, training, and certifications.

Schedule

Morning and/or afternoon routes, as needed.

Approximately 1–1.5 hours per shift .

Flexible, as-needed scheduling based on driver availability.

Compensation

$35.61 per route driven.

One important note: If the position involves driving a school bus, you may want to specify that applicants must have a CDL with the required school bus and passenger endorsements, or be eligible to obtain them, depending on the vehicle and applicable state requirements.
