Guest Teacher

Summary
The Silvis School District is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Guest Teachers. This role is essential in providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students during the absence of regular classroom teachers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive educational experience for all students.

Responsibilities
- Deliver instructional lessons and activities as outlined in lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement school-wide behavior policies.
- Assess student understanding and provide feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student support.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, including attendance and record-keeping.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid IL Substitute Teacher license is required.
- Previous experience working with students is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to engage students and create a dynamic learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom situations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and administration.
- Background check and other employment requirements as mandated by state law.
