Custodial Department - Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and other assigned areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and other surfaces.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock restroom supplies and other cleaning materials.
- Perform routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and basic facility upkeep.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and needed repairs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with preparing rooms and facilities for school activities, meetings, athletic events, and community events.
- Help maintain safe and orderly school grounds, entrances, and walkways as assigned.
- Follow established procedures for using cleaning products, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- Work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, support staff, and other district employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the school district.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and pride in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Ability to follow directions, manage time effectively, and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to use routine custodial equipment and cleaning products.

Custodian – Custer County School District
Position: Full-Time Custodian

Work Schedule: Late-Afternoon/Evening Shift (8 Hours Per Day/5 Days Per Week)

Position Overview
The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of school buildings and facilities. This position is an important part of our school team and requires someone who is reliable, flexible, detail-oriented, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical tasks as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. May require prolonged periods of standing and the ability to move materials, equipment, or supplies as needed.
