Elementary Music Instructor (PK–4) – 0.6 FTE

Due to a retirement, Boone Central Schools is seeking applications for a 0.6 FTE Elementary Music Instructor (PK–4) for the 2027–2028 school year. This is a three-day-per-week position. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement by August 1, 2027.

Boone Central is a PK–12 school district with an enrollment of approximately 650 students, located in Albion, Nebraska, approximately 40 miles from Columbus, 55 miles from Norfolk, and 60 miles from Grand Island.

Candidates holding an elementary, middle school, or high school teaching certificate will be considered, with preference given to those with a music endorsement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with another music teacher on staffing and scheduling across our buildings. Boone Central utilizes Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), providing opportunities for weekly collaboration with music educators at the middle and high school levels.

The district has a tradition of academic excellence and strong extracurricular programs. In the most recent AQuESTT ratings, Boone Central received an overall rating of “Great.” Our school and community take pride in being a progressive district that provides students with a wide range of educational and extracurricular opportunities.

Coaching opportunities may be available at the middle and high school levels.

Salary and Contract Information

Boone Central recognizes all years of teaching experience. The base salary for the 2026–2027 school year is $40,500. The base salary for the 2027–2028 school year has not yet been determined. The minimum placement for new teachers is BA, Step 3. Teachers initially placed at BA, Step 3 will remain at that step through their first three years of service and advance to Step 4 in their fourth year.

The anticipated first contract date is approximately August 9, 2027.
