- Establish a clear vision for continued success through player development, competitive preparation, and a positive team culture.
- Develop and implement effective practice plans, conditioning activities, and game strategies.
- Teach soccer fundamentals and tactical skills that help athletes grow and compete at a high level.
- Mentor assistant coaches and coordinate coaching responsibilities.
- Support the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes.
- Promote effort, accountability, inclusion, leadership, and sportsmanship.
- Build strong relationships and maintain clear communication with student-athletes, families, staff, and the community.
- Collaborate with the activities department and school administration on scheduling, equipment, supervision, and program organization.
- Follow all applicable school, conference, and state athletic association rules and expectations.
- Prior soccer coaching experience preferred; head coaching or program leadership experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, player development, and game strategy.
- Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate student-athletes and build a positive, competitive program.
- Commitment to developing athletes of all experience levels and encouraging participation.
- Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or ability to obtain it before the season.
