1st Grade Teacher : Long Term Substitute
Spruce Mountain Primary School
Description:
Spruce Mountain Primary School is looking for a long term substitute to cover a first grade class for a 12 week period beginning approximately after Thanksgiving break, if not before. The substitute teacher will need to be readily available to:
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with grade level curriculum and learning standards.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Implement classroom routines, schoolwide expectations, and positive behavior supports.
- Collaborate with grade level colleagues, educational technicians, and other school personnel to support student success.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for every child.
Qualifications:
- Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) For more information please visit: https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprinting
- Elementary / Primary education experience is preferred.
- Teaching certification is also preferred, but not required.

- Certifications (CHRC and / or Teaching from the MDOE)
- College Transcripts, if applicable
- Payscale for long term substitute is dependent upon education and certification level: $140.00 / day to $262.96 / day
