JOB SUMMARY
Provide temporary, substitute, and as-needed nursing coverage to support the health and safety of students and school personnel. Duties include assessing illnesses and injuries; administering authorized medications and treatments; monitoring chronic health conditions; responding to medical emergencies; maintaining accurate, confidential health records; communicating with families and school staff; and supporting healthcare plans, screenings, and health education within the nurse's scope of practice.
Schedule: PRN coverage with a focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Assignments may be full-day, partial-day, or short-term at assigned school campuses. Availability during school operating hours is required for accepted assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Hold a current, unrestricted RN or LPN license to practice in Indiana and current CPR/BLS certification from a recognized provider.
• Have knowledge of medication administration, first aid, emergency response, and student health management.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, communication, organization, and documentation skills; work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
• Be able to move throughout the school, respond promptly to emergencies, and assist students with physical needs in accordance with training and safety protocols.
Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, emergency care, or community health is preferred.
