Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach

Job Summary
Joel Barlow High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletic program as an Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing the skills and talents of our student-athletes, fostering a positive and competitive environment, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. This is a seasonal position that requires a commitment to the full duration of the lacrosse season.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Help develop game strategies and prepare the team for competition.
- Provide instruction on fundamental skills, techniques, and rules of lacrosse.
- Monitor and evaluate players' performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in organizing and managing team events, including games, tournaments, and fundraisers.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Attend all scheduled team meetings, practices, and games.
- Uphold and enforce school and athletic department policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in lacrosse or a strong background as a player.
- Knowledge of the rules and strategies of girls lacrosse.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Availability for the entire duration of the lacrosse season, including evenings and weekends.
- A background check may be required prior to hiring.
- A passion for youth sports and player development.
