Primary Location: TCAPS Montessori (Traverse City Area Public Schools)

Compensation: $25.35 per hour (6.61 hours = full day)

Benefits: Full-Year Guest Teching positions are not benefits eligible (except ESTA)

Term: 2026–2027 Academic Year (Full-Time, Instructional Days)

Position Summary

TCAPS Montessori is seeking a dedicated, adaptable Full-Year Guest Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. In this role, you will provide vital classroom stability by filling daily teaching assignments across the school. On days when no specific classroom coverage is assigned, you will collaborate with building administrators to assist where student or staff support is needed most, including, but not limited to special education aide duties.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Classroom Instruction: Report to TCAPS Montessori every instructional day to fulfill prearranged assignments managed through the WillSub system.

Building Support: Partner with building leadership on days without assigned coverage to provide support across classrooms, small groups, special education programs, or other support needs in the building.

Adaptability & Flexibility: Serve primarily at TCAPS Montessori , with readiness to assist at neighboring TCAPS school buildings if an urgent need arises.

Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment following established district plans and curriculum standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Minimum of 60 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university (required to obtain a Michigan Department of Education Substitute Permit).

Permitting & Third-Party Hiring: Willingness to register and complete employment onboarding through willSub (ESS) Midwest upon selection.

Skills: Strong communication, classroom management skills, patience, and a high degree of flexibility.
