Little Comets Preschool Teacher Assistant

This position is a Teacher's Assistant position in a general education, tuition based, licensed preschool classroom. The opening is within a full day preschool classroom working with 3-5 year old's. Daily duties include serving breakfast to students, warmly greeting families each morning, cleaning, assisting with small group lessons and classroom management. The hours of this position are M-F 12:00 pm - 5:55 pm.

Position Responsibilities:
 Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision
 Engage in activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in the program,
based on their individual development
 Assist with classroom management
 Discuss children’s development and communicate with families daily
 Deliver small group lessons that introduce early math and literacy concepts
 Child Assessment support
 Build children’s self-esteem
 Comfort children
 Encourage independence
 Establish routines and provide positive guidance
 Participate in staff meetings, community and school activities, and professional development
 Assist with copying and preparing materials and centers
 File, organize, wash toys, and disinfect surfaces
 Replace teacher, when needed
