Job Summary

Manage and or Teach the Instrumental Jazz program

Organize the rehearsal and performance schedule for the group. Each school may determine what works best for their school

Communication with band members and families

Manage and maintain instrument/equipment inventory

“Season” Responsibilities (if applicable)

Before Season

Schedule performance opportunities and register for festivals/competitions, arrange for transportation

Select and distribute music for performances

Communicate with students and jazz band families

Assign and distribute school-owned instruments and equipment specific to the jazz band program

During Season

Plan and deliver instruction at rehearsals

Supervise students at rehearsals, competitions, and performances throughout the season

Maintain regular communication with students, parents, transportation, competition hosts

End of Season

Arrange for the collection and cleaning of school-owned instruments and equipment
