Freshman Boys Basketball Coach, Winter Athletics

DESCRIPTION

Provide coaching and support to student athletes and assistance to his/her designated supervisor(s). The coach will provide leadership, instruction, supervision, and guidance to student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, academic responsibility, character development, and student safety.

The coach is responsible for conducting practices and contests, supervising student-athletes, maintaining appropriate communication with the Athletic Department and families, and ensuring compliance with district, NJSIAA, league, and school policies and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Substitute Teaching Certificate

Prior High School Coaching experience

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the applicable sport.

Ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise high school student-athletes.

Ability to work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, administration, coaches, athletic trainers, students, and families.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act

Successful Criminal History Clearance

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.

Before beginning coaching, will be required to obtain the following certifications:

CPR/AED/First Aid

NFHS Concussion Awareness

Heat Illness

Implicit Bias Cert

Fundamentals of Coaching Cert

BeNice Cert

Additional certifications or training may be required based on applicable state, NJSIAA, or district requirements.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION

Stipened as determined by the FTEA/BOE collective bargaining agreement. Season begins 11/16/2026, Head Boys Basketball Coach $12,197.43 stipend.

This is a temporary, seasonal coaching assignment with a fixed stipend for the contracted sport season. This position does not include year-round employment, benefits, or guaranteed continued assignment beyond the designated season/ contracted period. Stipend and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
