Sussex Technical School District - Minimum education of High School diploma required.
- Previous experience working in field of food service preferred.
- Flexible schedule with ability to work on short notice.
- Must be able to complete essential job functions including but not limited to:
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Lift more than 50 lbs.
- Operate large-scale kitchen appliances
- Work in confined spaces.
- Follow all school policies and procedures.
- Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes
- Set up, replenish, and break down serving lines while greeting students and guests in a friendly, welcoming manner
- Adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) safety protocols and local health department regulations.
- Take and record accurate internal temperatures for cooked and stored foods.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, serving lines, and kitchen equipment
- Properly store inventory using rotation methods.
- Work cooperatively with cafeteria manageers, cooks, and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position: Substitute- Food Service Worker
Location: Sussex Technical High School
Reports To: Cafeteria Manager and Cafeteria Asst. Manager

Performance Responsibilities:
Terms of Employment: At-will position. Substitutes are not employees of the school district but rather work on a day-to-day basis as needed.
Salary and Benefits: Non-benefit eligible position. Compensation is recorded in a half-days or full-days. Hours are 7am-2pm or 10am-2pm. Substitutes earn a daily rate of: $132.30/day or $18.90/hr.
