Playground Aide (2.5 hours per day)

PLAYGROUND AIDE –(Part time 2.5 hrs/day)

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Excellent human relations skills.

Experience with young people.

Prior experience in a school setting is desired.

Ability to demonstrate keen observation competence.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Playground

Supervise students at playtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the playground.

Organizes group games and activities.

Assumes responsibility for play equipment.

Takes part in in-service training programs.

Directs movement of groups to and from the playground.

Displays initiative during supervision duties.

Maintains student confidentiality.

Carries a first aid pack provided by the school nurse.

Reports problems and accidents.

Follows established safety procedures and enforces recess/playground expectations.

Directs students to keep hands and feet to oneself.
