POSITION: Elementary Lunch & Recess Paraprofessional

LOCATION: East Leroy Elementary School

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

PAY: Per Athens Educational Support Personnel Association Master Agreement

STARTING DATE: October 2026

HOURS: Approximately 11:15 A.M. - 1:20 P.M. on full days of school

Minimum Qualifications :

Strong desire to work with elementary school aged students

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

First Aid and CPR certification preferred

Previous experience in a similar role preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Provide active supervision of elementary-aged students at lunch and recess times.

Support positive student behavior using appropriate and approved intervention techniques.

Direct movements of student groups to and from the cafeteria, playground and classrooms in a safe and orderly manner.

Report accidents to the elementary office in a timely manner.

Ability to communicate in a positive manner with children and other staff members.

Willingness and ability to work as a cooperative team member.

Willingness to respect school confidentiality policies regarding students and their families.

Adhere to all district and board of education policies and procedures.
