Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager Job Description

Position Description / Working Conditions:

The Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager oversees all aspects of the Agriculture Land Lab Farm. These responsibilities of the Manager include but are not limited to the following items.

Management of all livestock on a daily basis

Oversight of a 10,000 square foot garden and two high tunnels on a daily basis

Maintain grounds and facilities on a daily basis

Coordinating activities with all of the school system's Agriculture Education teachers

The Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager position reports to the Director of Career & Technical education within Giles County Public Schools

Keep accurate financial records and production data.

Qualifications:

Must have experience operating a farm with cattle, sheep, and other similar livestock

Must have an understanding of the lifecycle of farm animals

Must be organized and able to manage, schedule, and evaluate various aspects of a farm to maximize limited resources

Ability to work collaboratively with all aspects of a public school system including administrators, teachers, students, parents, and school board members

A thorough understanding of the needs of a public school system, its students, and teachers

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting the demands of teachers and students in a timely fashion

Ability to research and solve problems independently

Conducts and organizes technical training for staff and teachers as required

Terms of Employment:

Salary commensurate with experience.
