Position Details
The Seymour Community School District is seeking a long term substitute for our Cross-Cateogrical Special Education Teacher in Early Childhood/4K setting at our Rock Ledge Elementary location. This is a full-time position and one that requires a professional attitude, the ability to interact collaboratively with district staff members, a dedication to providing services, and a commitment to supporting our students’ unique learning needs and talents. The district sets high expectations not only for services provided, but also for IEP paperwork and process; therefore, organization, time management, and an energetic spirit are skills that candidates should possess.
A teacher shall possess a valid Wisconsin Teaching or Substitute License and shall meet all the requirements as established by state statute, the Department of public Instruction, and the School Board, or be eligible to earn the appropriate license. A teacher will plan to effectively present the instructional program relative to individual needs, and to evaluate the learning process to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student using the District’s universal curriculum. The teacher will work collaboratively with parents/guardians and colleagues to ensure that the maximum growth is achieved. In addition, classroom teachers will supervise students in both schedule and unschedule situations or activities.
We welcome applicants with a regular education license and offer district support for obtaining a cross-categorical special education license.
Hours/Benefits: The parameters of this position are defined by a letter of commitment.
