Paraprofessional

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Reed City High School as a Paraprofessional. This part-time position involves providing support to teachers and students in a variety of educational settings. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and helping students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Responsibilities

- Assist teachers in classroom management and instructional activities.

- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special needs.

- Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.

- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support as needed.

- Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.

- Assist with administrative tasks, such as grading assignments and maintaining student records.

- Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student engagement.

- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in education or a related field is preferred.

- Possess a minimum of 60 college credit hours, an associate’s degree, or have completed the ETSParaPro Assessment with a passing score.

- Previous experience working with students, particularly in an educational or childcare setting, is a plus.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.

- Must pass a background check and meet any other state or district requirements for paraprofessionals.
