POSITION: BUILDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

LOCATION: DISTRICT-WIDE (ASSIGNED TO A SPECIFIC SCHOOL BUILDING)

EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

COMPENSATION: KELLY EDUCATIONAL STAFFING - $150.00/day

Rose Tree Media School District seeks dependable, flexible, and student-centered Building Substitute Teachers to provide instructional continuity and support student learning in our schools. Assigned to a specific school building, Building Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage as needed, implement instructional plans, maintain positive and well-managed learning environments, and work collaboratively with school administrators and staff to ensure students experience a productive and supportive school day.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and confident working with students across different grade levels and subject areas. This position requires an educator who communicates effectively, establishes positive relationships with students and staff, responds appropriately to varying classroom needs, and maintains high expectations for student engagement, behavior, and learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required.

Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification or eligibility for and successful acquisition of a Pennsylvania emergency teaching permit prior to beginning employment.

Demonstrated ability to implement instructional plans and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment.

Ability to adapt to different grade levels, subject areas, and student learning needs.

Strong classroom management skills and ability to establish clear expectations for student behavior and engagement.

Ability to communicate effectively with students, administrators, teachers, support staff, and families.

Ability to follow established instructional plans, school procedures, and District expectations.

Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to respond effectively to changing assignments and classroom situations.

Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Demonstrated dependability, punctuality, and commitment to consistent attendance.

Current required background clearances.

Duties may involve distributing instructional materials, operating classroom technology, and responding promptly to student needs. Work is performed primarily indoors within a school setting.
