- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, preferably spanning both early childhood/elementary and middle school grade bands. Prior special education experience as well as school leadership and supervisory experience is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of NJ Student Learning Standards (NJSLS), early childhood education best practices, PBSIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), HIB (Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying) regulations, and data-driven instruction.
- Clearances: Required criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status, and NJ residency required within one year of hire per the New Jersey First Act.
- Instructional Leadership: Assist the Principal in supervising and evaluating instructional and support staff and promoting effective teaching and learning practices aligned with district goals and evaluation requirements.
- Student Support & Discipline: Support a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment by addressing student needs and behavior, promoting positive relationships, and implementing appropriate student support, restorative, and behavioral practices.
- Operations & Management: Assist with the day-to-day administration and operation of the school, including scheduling, district/state reporting, HIB procedures, student supervision, assessment and testing coordination, attendance, safety procedures, student activities, and athletics. Support the effective implementation of school and district policies, programs, and procedures.
- Community Engagement: Build positive, collaborative relationships with parents, community stakeholders, and the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Communicate effectively and contribute to a strong partnership between the school, families, and the community.
- School Improvement & Leadership: Assist the Principal in advancing school goals, initiatives, and improvement efforts. Contribute to a positive school culture focused on student achievement, staff development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Range: $80,000 to $110,000 for 10 months and 2 weeks
