Sub Separate Special Education Teacher (K-2)

This position is a Sub Separate Special Education Teacher (lower elementary students K-2) which is located at Halifax Elementary School.

This position is a substantially separate classroom working with students who are developmentally delayed, have neurological disabilities, and Autism and reports the building principal.

The candidate should have:

knowledge and/or experience in providing an ABA approach, using communication devices, using data to inform instruction and develop/implement IEP plans.

a moderate or severe disability license.

the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.

They will be responsible for evaluating students, writing IEPs and Progress Reports and attending IEP Meetings.

This candidate will:

work with students on academic, social and behavioral skills as well as toilet training

collaborate with other staff members.

This is a fulltime benefits eligible position through the Town of Halifax and salary is commensurate with experience, education and alignment to the Halifax Teachers Association contract.
