Paraeducator - Support for Band - Full Year (1 Year Only)

Title: Paraeducator - For Band Support - After School / Evening Hours
Salary: $23/hour stipend rate for AFSCME
$33/hour stipend rate for BTA

NOTE - If you want to job share it will be permittted with a submitted schedule for the responsible staff member.

Schedule:

1. Practices Wednesday 2 - 3 pm (through November 4)

2. Practices Thursday 6 - 8 pm (through November 19)

3. Home football games as outlined on the calendar:

10/2 5:00 - 8:15

10/30 4:45 - 8:00

11/13 4:30 - 8:00

4. Concerts / Performances - see list below

Note: For any away scheduled performances assistant must ride the bus with the students.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist students in accessing the band program both during practices and performances.
2. Help students with setting up band equipment / music during practices and performances.
3. Facilitate participation within the band program, provide behavior redirection.
4. Works under the direction of band teacher/director.
5. Monitor students during practices and performances, both home and away.

8th GRADE PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

BHS Winter Concert, Thursday, Dec. 17, 2026, snowdate: 12/22/26, 6 pm - approx 8:30 pm at BHS

optional, to be determined based on student's decision to participate: Junior District Auditions, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027 snowdate 2/13/27, times to be determined after we register, location: Grafton High, take a bus from BHS

Bellingham All Town Band Concert, Wednesday, March 24, 2027, snowdate: 3/25/27, times: 5:45 to approx 8:30 pm at BHS

MICCA Clinic, Monday, April 5, 2027, after school rehearsal, 2 - 4 pm at BHS

MICCA Music Festival, Friday April 9, 2027, times approx 2 to 6 pm at BHS

BHS Jazz Concert, Thursday, May 13, 2027, times 6 pm to approx 8 pm

Bellingham Memorial Parade, Sunday, May 23, 2027, times approx 11 am to 3 pm, must be able to walk the parade route from BHS to BMS to Town Common and ride bus back to BHS

BMS & BHS Spring Band Concert, Tuesday, May 25, 2027, times 6 pm to approx 8:30 pm

BHS Graduation, Friday, June 4, 2027, times approx 4:45 pm to 8:30 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma
2. Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
3. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
4. Good communication skills.
5. Knowledge of medical conditions including seizure care or willing to learn.
