- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, outside agencies, and community groups
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage a classroom
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Deliver instruction by implementing lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher across assigned subject areas
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed learning environment by reinforcing appropriate student behavior and school expectations
- Follow established school and classroom routines, procedures, and schedules
- Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess
- Report student injuries, illnesses, and significant disciplinary concerns to school administration promptly
- Provide the regular teacher with a summary of instructional progress and student conduct at the end of the assignment
