- Job Description
The Arlington Central School District is currently looking to hire Bus Monitors for the start of the 2026/2027 school year. This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school vehicle.
Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:
- Maintaining order on and around school buses;
- Intervenes in confrontations and student fights, if necessary, and attempt to calm students;
- May escort students to and from special appointments;
- Monitors students in parking lots and supervises the loading of buses;
- May assist in rendering of first aid emergencies;
- Informs superiors of observations of student behavior;
- Related work as required.

- Job Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the required NYS Education Department Physical Performance Test, which includes many standards, including dragging a 125 lb. bag 30 feet in 30 seconds.
- Able to get along well with school-aged children
