New Jersey Substitute Certification Required
Qualifications:
1. Candidates must have a substitute teacher certification or have completed 60 college credits to obtain a NJ Substitute Certification
2. Have the ability to relate to and work with children.
3. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
4. Required criminal history background check and proof of United States citizenship or legal resident alien status
PREFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the teacher, the Classroom Instructional Aide shall:
- Assist students with all instructional and non-instructional tasks assigned by the teacher.
- Use available technologies to fulfill job functions.
- Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and effective work ethics.
- Display ethical behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
- Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
- Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
- Assist the teacher in the preparation of needed classroom materials.
- Assist the teacher in related clerical work.
- Other responsibilities as determined by the administration.
