NLCS Instructional Aide

JOB TITLE: NLCS Instructional Aide

REPORTS TO: Special Education Director

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

An aide in our Preschool classrooms will work to nourish curiosity through purposeful experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Building Instructional Capacity
Supervision

Assist teachers with the implementation of curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child

Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners

Collaborate with other teaching staff and instructional support staff

Support and implement all policies and regulations as designed by each respective school and NLCS.

Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of classroom teachers.

Create a safe, nurturing environment where children are able to learn and play

Maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized

Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

A love for children and a desire to make a difference every day

Works well with others

Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively

Strong organization skills

CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain)

1+ year of Early Childhood Education Experience (preferred)
