Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Caregiver
If you are interested in applying for the Early Head Start classroom paraprofessional (caregiver) position, you must submit a letter of interest by May 1, 2026
Effective Date:
Anticipated date of employment 11/02/2026.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood/Child Development from an accredited college preferred.
2. Diploma in Child Development or Early Childhood or related field required.
3.. A minimum of an Early Childhood Care and Education Basic TCC.or Comparable Credential
4. Paraprofessional license requirement:
•Hold an associate's degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution;
OR
•Have completed 2 years (60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours) of college coursework above the remedial level at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with a grade of "C" or better;
OR
•Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
5. Experience working with infants and toddlers.
6.. Ability to work with infants, toddlers, and at-risk families.
7. Sound moral character, high ethical standards, and good health.

Procedure:
1. Submit resume' and application, including official transcript, by 10/16/2026.
2. All applications will be screened based on the above qualifications.
3. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee established by the Early Head Start Policy Council.
4. Early Head Start Director will make the final recommendation to the Early Head Start Policy Council and the Emanuel County Board of Education.
