Assistant Crew Coach

Anticipated Vacancy for a High School Assistant Crew Coach for School Year 2026-27

Responsibilities:

Teach proper on-the-water rowing and sculling techniques, ergometer (erging) workouts, boat handling, and race strategies.

Work with the head coach to develop and implement practice plans

Enforce strict safety rules, manage on-water hazards, and drive motorized coaching launches.

Supervise students before, during, and after practices and regattas

Assist with launching and docking, perform routine boat and oar repairs, and manage gear inventory in the boathouse.

Travel with the team to weekend races, help rig and trailer boats, and manage race-day logistics.

Maintain positive, clear communication with student-athletes, parents, and school athletic staff.

Model and promote good sportsmanship

Availability for early morning and after-school weekday practices and weekend regattas.

CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to get the certification

Qualifications:

• All required clearances, physical and TB test, and District requirements must be completed before employment.
