Substitute Cook

North Daviess R-III is seeking dependable substitute cooks to assist with preparing and serving school meals when regular food service staff are absent.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and serving spaces.

Assist with dishwashing, food storage, and kitchen organization.

Follow directions regarding food allergies and special dietary needs.

Work cooperatively with school staff to provide friendly, efficient meal service.

Follow district policies and maintain student confidentiality.

Qualifications

Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.

Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Ability to safely perform essential kitchen duties, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Complete required background checks and district employment requirements.

Food service experience preferred but not required.

Schedule: As needed, based on staff absences. Students generally attend Tuesday through Friday.
