- Serving as a positive role model and mentor for students.
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of the sport, including appropriate techniques, strategies, rules, and safety practices.
- Actively recruiting and encouraging student participation within the school community.
- Communicating effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, assistant coaches, school administration, and other stakeholders.
- Supervising and providing leadership to assistant coaches and other program personnel.
- Maintaining appropriate team and program expectations consistent with District policies and athletic department procedures.
- Promoting good sportsmanship and representing Octorara Area School District in a professional manner.
- Ensuring compliance with PIAA rules, District policies, and applicable athletic regulations.
- Performing other duties related to the athletic program as assigned by the Athletic Director or administration.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to work effectively with student-athletes.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the sport, including techniques, strategies, rules, and fundamentals.
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with parents/guardians, coaches, administrators, and school staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing student-athletes both athletically and personally.
- Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in the sport is preferred.

Athletic Coach – Boys JH Wrestling Head Coach
Octorara Area School District is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Head Coach for an Octorara JH athletic program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-athlete development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the overall mission of the Octorara Area School District.
Position Details
Compensation: 5 Points @ $653 per point = $3,265.00

Required Clearances & Training
All required Pennsylvania clearances and PIAA trainings must be completed in accordance with District and PIAA requirements prior to assuming coaching responsibilities.
