Substitute After School Program Aide II

Help implement an after program for children ages 5-10 years.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Required

Pass a Criminal Background Check that Meets State and Federal Laws

Obtain & Maintain First Aid and CPR License within two months of hire

Bilingual in English and Yup'ik preferred

Able to Life 40 poundsAbility to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.

Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.

DUTIES

Under the supervision of the teacher or leader, prepare for classroom activities

Works with small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher or leader.

Assists individual students in need of special attention

Sets up and operates equipment

Assists teacher or leader with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack, restroom breaks

Assists with reading and storytellingParticipates in training as scheduled

Checks and records student attendance and other record keeping duties

Assists with the supervision of students

Maintains the same high level of high ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about studentand fellow employees as is expected of teachers

Performs other duties as assigned
