PARAPROFESSIONAL (Part-time)

The Northern Region Educational Services Commission (NRESC), with its central office located in Wayne, New Jersey, has anticipated openings for a Paraprofessional in our day habilitation center located in Totowa, New Jersey. This program provides day services to medically fragile adults with special needs.
Requirements:
* Experience working with adults with special needs preferred
* Assist with learning activities
* Attend to personal care needs of the individual when and if necessary, including lifting and transfers to and from toilet, wheelchairs and adapted chairs or seating equipment and assisting individuals in the use of adaptive personal equipment as needed
* Assist with transportation by accompanying adults to and from bus upon arrival and during departure
*Participates in program functions such as:
- In-service training
- Open houses
- Staff meetings
*Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration and families, both verbally and in writing
* Must be dependable, compassionate, and committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning environment
* Familiarity with Google Applications (Slides, Sheets, Docs and Drive)
* Must meet Criminal History Background Check as per the Department of Education under N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.2
Working Conditions:
Part-time (5 days a week – not to exceed 28.5 hours per week)
Salary:
$42,000 (no medical benefits)
