Long Term Substitute - 6th Grade

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long Term Substitute for our 6th Grade at King Elementary School . This position requires an individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Approximate start date: November 30, 2026, for 12 weeks. Substitute will be paid at the long term substitute rate per the DREA contract.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior.
- Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching license in the state.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
